What is Chronic Pain?
Chronic pain is often defined as pain lasting more than 3 months. Whereas acute pain is a normal sensation that alerts us to possible injury, chronic pain is very different. Chronic pain persists—often for months or even longer. Some cases of chronic pain can be traced to a specific injury that has long since healed – others have no apparent cause. Treating your underlying condition is vitally important, however, often than not, it does not resolve chronic pain. Chronic pain requires pain treatment that addresses a patients physical and psychological health.
How to Book an Appointment
If you’re interested in seeing our Pain Specialist and would like to book an appointment, we require you to have a referral form completed by your family doctor or referring physician. You can download a copy of our referral form below. Please ask your doctor to complete this form and send it to us.
